about heartwood community garden
Heartwood Community Garden was founded in 2018 by the West Congress neighbors.
We are located at the corner of Heartwood and Thistlewood just off of South 1st Street, in Austin Texas.
We have a few plots still available, ranging in size from 4x8 ft, 4x19 ft and 9x12 ft. Annual plot rental fees are $40, $60, and $80 per year. Donations to help with on-going costs are always welcome.

Do I need gardening experience to join?
Nope! Our gardeners range from master naturalists to total garden newbies, and all are welcome.
What does it mean to sign up for the garden?
Gardeners rent a plot for a year and can grow just about anything legal on it. We are an organic garden community, so no pesticides allowed.
Are there group plots available?
Yes! Just email us through the form below and we'll help connect you with other gardeners who want a group plot.
